Subject: Excellent AUD Recording
This recording is EXCELLENT!! One of the best AUD's I've heard. Download this show and the 6-21 show from the same taper.

It might be thirty years after the fact but THANKS to the taper for posting this feed.

Best Wishes-Jimmy the Cop

Subject: rare treat for Alaska
I was at this show, the West High Auditorium is a smallish place with a balcony, where I was. Besides being so happy to see them for the second time ever, all I can remember was how the music they produced was so tight and loud, it was almost too much to absorb in such a small venue. I felt so lucky to be there, as many of the fellow Alaskans I've run into who were there as well. After the show the sun was still up, slanting beneath a slight cloud cover.

Subject: Jack Straw
The Jack Straw just rips. Its my favorite version. The rest of the show is great too.

Subject: I don't know alaska
Like everyone else said, this is a great high-energy show with so many highlights. Estimated and Let It Grow off the top of my head. I can't wait to listen to the rest of the run.

Brent is pretty high in the mix, both keys and vocals, which is great, since he sometimes gets pretty much buried. His harmonies go south occasionally (especially noticable on Johnny B. Goode).

Subject: Hot in Alaska
The highlights for me include Let it Grow in the first set and the Other One, which is hot. The introduction is funny: the management telling the audience to "try not to smoke."

Subject: Baked Alaska- Grateful Dead style
Ok, bad joke. But yeah, I really enjoyed this one. Some highlights for me was a tight and snappy "Franklin's Tower", a beautiful "Althea", some sweet playing all together on "The Other One", and a spacey yet funky(?) transition from Space into "Not Fade Away"- cool keyboard/wah effects on guitars- I think that's what that is. I'm sure Alaska was nice and cozy that night!

Subject: I don't know....
I swear, I might just like this show more than the equally excellent next night. there is nary a weak spot in this second set, the NFA is blistering, as is the JBG and Don't Ease. Estimated > Other One? you bet. Let it Grow in the middle of the first set?? Sound quality is fierce for a 1980 AUD! I'd give this one something between 4 and 4.5.

Subject: Dead In The Wild
Been listening to this show to warm my bones on a cold day. Friend of the Devil,Alabama Getaway,Franklins' and Not Fade Away some of the best but this whole show had a ton of energy. I guess the people of Anchorage were hungry for a good piece of entertainment. I can't wait for the 6-21 show tommorrow.

with this one. Nice long Straw starts things out right, into a well executed Franklin's. Estimated>Other One is probably the highlight. Great transition! Sound is good, could use a bit more Phil though.

Subject: great aud.
I will give this 5 stars due to the quality of the audience recording. I agree that the quality of the playing, while solid, may only merit 4 stars. Check out this and the 6/21 audience recording. Both recordings are great and I slightly prefer the playing on this show.

Subject: Nice
5 may be a bit of a reach however there is some strong stuff the let it grow > deal is great and the jack straw>franklins and whole back end is powerful with the other one kicking things off nfa all the way through solid.... show loses points for the sagging in the middle...

Subject: Bluesy Dead
The band is melancholy and kinda blue, but tight! The recording is excellent. You can feel the sadness and the joy! This one is great for a rainy day. For those times, download and listen, it will touch you . . .
